Uzès National Stud

France

The National Stud of Uzès is a fairly recent stud in the history of these institutions. It was only built in 1972.

It was created following the suppression of two stallion depots, that of Arles (created in 1859) as well as that of Perpignan (created in 1927). This establishment facilitated the management of Midi-Mediterranean breeding which until then was the responsibility of the Annecy, Rodez and Tarbes stud farms.

The Uzès national stud farm today houses the headquarters of the Mediterranean Arc territorial delegation of the IFCE, which extends to the Occitanie, PACA and Corsica regions. Its agents carry out missions to support the local equine sector and assist communities in their horse-related projects. The site has a resource center on the discipline of horsedriving, including a professional training center.

Haras National d’Uzès

Covering an area of 16 hectares, the Uzès National Stud has strong structural assets: a quality technical platform allowing the implementation of research and development protocols; sports infrastructures which allow it to host competitions throughout the year, as well as a forge, two stables with more than 70 boxes, outdoor arenas and a large covered arena. The site also hosts a 19th century residence, the Mas des Tailles, now dedicated to hosting festive events by its private manager.
