Michałów State Stud

The National Stud of Michalów is well known for the breeding of Arabian horses for more than 50 years. It is located in the province Holy Cross Mountain in a beautiful region with glacial crests. The rainfall is very low and there is only little vegetation providing good conditions for Arabian Horses.

The stud Klemensow, which breeds English Half Bloods, exists since 1946. The breeding of Arabian horses began in 1947. In 1953 the stud moved to Michalów with 21 mares which became the basis of the world-famous Arabian herd.

Today, with more than 100 mares and 400 horses in total Michalów is the largest stud breeding Arabian horses in Poland. It also is considered as one of the most prestigious ones of Europe.

In addition Malopolska sporthorses, Appaloosas and Shetland ponies are bred at Michalów.
