During the meeting, a unanimous decision was made to accept several new members, which the ESSA is now delighted to welcome:
- Szilvásvárad National Stud, Hungary
- Nordrhein-Westfälisches Landgestüt Warendorf, Germany
- Yeguarda Cartuja Hierro del Bocado, Spain
- National Stud Farm Topoľčianky, Slovakia
- Dr. Peter Richterich, Chairman of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the former Main Stud Farm Trakehnen, Germany
The meeting looked back on joint activities in recent years and made decisions on measures for the coming years. As State Studs are important custodians of tangible and intangible cultural assets, the representatives of the European State Studs discussed, among other things, ways of preserving endangered horse breeds and their bloodlines. In addition, trends, ideas and opportunities for the development of the equine sector in the coming years were summarized and the role that the ESSA can play in this was worked out. Through joint trade fair appearances, video projects and events, the ESSA will bring together its members in and outside Europe in the coming years and thus work together in the equine sector and all related sectors such as education, marketing, research, breeding and tourism.
The next Annual General Assembly will take place in 2024 at the Lipizzaner Stud Piber in Austria.
