horses are cultural assets
ESSA has set itself the task of preserving the cultural heritage of Europe’s state stud farms.
Pure elegance & cultural heritage
The ESSA has set itself the task of preserving the cultural heritage of Europe’s state stud farms, which are important custodians of tradition and history, but also modern businesses and training companies. Despite centuries of tradition, due to the declining social importance of the horse in the 20th century, some great stud farms in Europe were privatized, closed down or severely restricted. Accordingly, a number of important stud farms and institutions from more than 15 countries have joined together in the ESSA to form a network to counteract this trend and to preserve and further develop not only the horse itself, but also the intangible heritage associated with it, such as the knowledge of its needs, its training and its breeding.
Through joint appearances, events and advertising measures, the current and future importance of the stud farms as important centers of competence and training, as places of recreation and cultural heritage is communicated to a broad public. Become a supporting member and contribute to the preservation of the European state studs.
